Traditional, time tested construction
In every one of our pieces, we only use the traditional, time tested joinery and methods of construction that have proven the test of time.
Always real wood.
You won’t find plywood, particle board, or MDF here. All our pieces are made from real wood with minimal paint and staining.
Bespoke design process.
Instead of online forms, we discuss projects with our clients one-on-one, to ensure that everything about your piece fits your lifestyle and artistic preferences.
Bringing the Old Days Back Around
It’s not good because it’s old, it’s old because it’s good.
Homes so often become a constant drain on your bank account—and that’s without having to buy new furniture every few years because of cheap design failure. At Fruit of the Forest Woodworking, we believe in “buy once, cry once”. That’s why we create contemporary pieces with robust, time-tested techniques, so you can have quality furniture that holds its value even on resale.
Traditional Joinery
No more cheaply made joinery that falls apart after being dismantled and put back together every time you move.
We use hand cut joinery that has passed the test of time, not the test of speed. We’re talking mortise and tenon joints, dovetails, drawbore pins, and only ever screws where absolutely necessary.
Preservative Staining
Many craftsmen use stains as the primary way of making a wood’s coloring fit the client’s desires. This has so permeated pop-culture that many clients ask us if we can use stains to “bring out the grain” in the wood.
At FotF Woodworking, we carefully select wood that doesn’t need stain to fit your vision. Outside of you specifically requesting it, we will only use stains to protect the wood’s original color and enhance its longevity.

Every single piece is crafted by hand with heart, passion, and a deep attention to detail. Because mass-produced items have their place, but they will never capture the life and creativity behind a handmade design.
Meet the founder
Declan Thiele has been involved in creative outlets ever since his father invited him to lay his first tile at three years old.
After years of dabbling in everything from metal work, to robotics, to home construction, he found he always had a heart for creating memorable pieces out of wood where functionality meets beauty.
When he’s not spending time with his wife and son, you’re likely to find him in the workshop, planning or crafting his newest design.
